Online Guide

Robertson Associates provided the technology for CSAA's knowledge management system, the Online Guide, a just-in time information system that puts the corporate knowledge base on the customer service reps' desktops. This system has been deployed as part of an overall re-engineering effort in which CSAA is providing expanded performance support for customer service representatives as they take on more responsibilities across almost all business products and services. The system has improved customer service through quick access to information, empowering fewer staff to deliver better service. CSAA has also experienced a reduction in staff training time and expense through delivery of needed facts online, on-the-job.

State of California - New Teacher Assessment

The New Teacher Assessment computer prototype for the State of California, Department of Education explored technological opportunities for teacher assessment. Using this exciting medium, new teachers were led through an interactive program by an on-screen video guide who presented a series of video taped classroom teaching sessions. Teachers were then queried to give impressions of what they saw and decisions about what they would do next. Responses were gathered by digitized voice recording to eliminate possible keyboard skills bias in the test.

Working in technical collaboration with CTB-Macmillan/ McGraw-Hill and the American Institute for Research, , Robertson Associates was responsible for producing the video tapings, the videodiscs, and all technical design and development.
